Baby James’ Grandma is a Nurse up at the University of Utah Hospital and a clinical instructor for the University’s Nursing School. She contacted me months ago after I had my canvases hung in the University of Utah Hospital’s Labor & Delivery waiting room. She was so excited to give some gift certificates to not only one of her children, but two! Both children were expecting baby boys due in August. How fun that these cousins will be so close in age! While we were shooting James’ session, they actually received a photo text of his cousin that was born late the night before. I can’t wait to get him into the studio as well!
If you are interested in giving a session as a gift or contributing to a session, visit the Gift Registry page. You can make donations towards a registered client’s session that they can use to purchase heirloom art from their session. It is a meaningful gift that will be treasured forever.
James was a little slice of heaven in the studio. He gave us lots of smirks and personality and he was content to just let us do our thing. By the end he was curious as to what was going on – he was trying hard to figure things out! We ended up getting some great eyes-open shots. A lot of times parents start to stress when their baby isn’t sleeping well during the session, but these awake shots usually end up being some of the favorites. I try really hard to let the baby guide our session together. I feel confident that I can create beautiful images whether or not the baby decides to follow our cues.
